Elan Valley, Wales

03 April 2012

When I planned our week long tour of Wales, I spent many hours looking through several guide books. I discovered the Elan Valley. Back in Victorian times, cities in England were growing. Water supply was starting to be a problem. The Elan Valley was the perfect place to build a series of dams that would allow water to be diverted to Birmingham. The dams are practical and stunning. Thos Victorians sure knew what they were doing. So on a cold and rainy day we toured the Elan Valley and saw the dams.
