Imber, England

23 April 2011

Imber is a small village that is no more. It is one of those places I never would have heard about had it not been for a thriller I was reading that had Stonehenge and Salisbury Plains as a location. The village of Imber was mentioned in the book and I was curious. During World War Two the residents were evicted. This was only supposed to be temporary. Their village was to be used by the Americans as a training location. After the war the residents never return. But during Easter each year people can visit Imber. You can not leave the road and wonder in the gardens. You can however visit the church and graveyard. It was like attending a family picnic.

Songs for the church bells.
